First go here and get SimPE and the Colo(u)r Options Enabler. You will also need Microsoft's .NET Framework to run SimPE.

Now go look at this tutorial, which explains exactly how to do it. The process will take some getting used to, but if you've ever tried to recolor a Sims1 bed or sofa, it will be a fucking cake walk in comparison.

Finally, a warning: SimPE and its associated doodads are betas. As in, not finished. As in, potentially containing bugs which may fuck up your game. It all seems pretty stable, and I am finding no problems with the recolored bed, but back your shit up before you mess with this just in case.
