So this computer over here has been tagged with a "Klez" ticket. One of the other techs set Norton to scanning last night, in DOS mode; this morning, I found it finished and claiming that whatever virii the box may have had are dead and gone.
It still had some problems.
We got go-ahead from client to nuke and restore the hard drive.
I plugged it into the network so I could back up his My Documents folder in a quick and easy manner not involving forty floppies.
Half the computers in the shop popped up with virus warnings. Apparently, Other Tech forgot to make sure the virus definitions were updated.
I now run around to every computer in here while the biohazard over there formats with the Klez removal tool on floppy. Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfucketyfuck.
(Norton did catch it on mine before it did its thing, fortunately. I 've just unplugged the rest of the boxen from the network.)
