ASSHOLE ALERT
Jun. 28th, 2002 02:45 pmeSupport.com wins Sarah's Asshole of the Day award!
These guys apparently sell BIOS upgrades. Yes, sell them. Even though the manufacturers offer them for free in the vast majority of cases. Somehow I doubt that the manufacturers are seeing a penny. Okay, I can see selling the chips themselves, but they're also selling just the flash diskettes, which any idiot can make themselves.
Anyway. I wasn't aware that they'd be charging until after I'd filled out an inquiry form. Okay. Filled out another form telling them I had made a mistake, I wasn't aware I'd be having to pay for freeware, and that I'd find my upgrade somewhere else.
Someone named Gene Smith from this company e-mailed me this morning. I ignored it.
He called about ten minutes ago. I informed him that I was not interested in his products and that I had found what I was looking for elsewhere.
His response, verbatim:
"Well, thank you! You're so pleasant!" *click*
And you're so professional, fuckstick! Naturally, I didn't say this at the time. I was shocked silent for a second, after which I said "Screw you too, sir!" into the dead phone.
So, I just fired off a nastygram to the company regarding the conduct of their employee. Really, is that any way to talk to someone who might, if you're lucky, be giving you money if you end up having something they really need?
Anyway. These guys are dipshits. Don't buy from 'em. :)
