I...I...oh dear lord, this isn't a joke.

I thought fandom involvement in charity was to raise money for them, like help_haiti and those sort of fundraisers. I don't know who this woman is but god, does she need a visit from the cluestick.

Yyyyyeah, I think this pisses me off especially bad because I'm in a fandom that is really really really into charity work (okay sure it's basically an excuse to walk around with a proton pack on days that are not Halloween but still FFFFFFFUUUUUU)

It's just appalling. I went to read the post and the write-up at unfunny business and wow, the depths of self-delusion are deep in this one.

I thought (stupid optimistic that I am) that maybe maybe it was a genuinely charitable idea that was being organised through fandom. Fandom is awesome for organising groups of dedicated people.

Then I read the conversation with liviapenn and oh, oh my god.

Fanfic archives are fun but they honestly are not even in the same galaxy as pretty much everything else on that list.

Your Ghostbusters stuff sounds like fun, I've got to say. =D
