Honestly, if some dingbat sent you an e-mail telling you that, say, explorer.exe was a virus undetectable by Norton or McAfee and that you needed to delete it, how many of you would fall for it? Nobody reading this, I know, and I love you all. But there are so many more idjits out there who'd swallow it hook, line, and sinker.
These hoaxes are dangerous virii in a way. If the reader of the hoax hasn't been keeping informed and hasn't engaged his or her mental Norton Anti-Bullshit protection, said reader will fall for the shit, delete whatever it tells him or her to, and fux0r his/her computer up.
Kind of makes the old "honor system virus" joke not seem so far-fetched, huh?
I think I'll collect hoax virus warnings too. Just because.
