A customer needed a tape drive. 4/8GB Travan, to be precise.
I soon found out that this was an endangered species. Tech Data showed that their California appendage had two on order...with an ETA of 01/01/2010.
Sure, the client won't mind waiting a few years. It's just his backup!
No, seriously, it's been replaced with a bigger capacity drive, which still reads the 4/8GB tapes, so it's all good.
