I'm fairly sure this is Hope...


...and this is Jane. It's hard to tell the girls apart unless I'm seeing them in person. Jane is bigger.

Also, the girls have had their eyes fixed since these were taken. It's a common shar-pei thing--they sometimes have problems with their eyelids being too big and floppy, and their eyelashes scratch their eyeballs and cause all kinds of eye problems. So the vet puts a few stitches in their eyelids, and those stay in for a few weeks until the eyelids get trained to grow the right way. Apparently, they don't numb it or anything first, though. The vet claims they don't feel it. To which Stepmom and I say: HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW!? Go get your eyebrow pierced, Doc. Then think about whether or not the puppy feels that. ...that aside, though, the girls don't seem to mind the eyestitches at present. They happily roll around and gnaw on one another and let Sarge nibble on their faces and everything, so.


Sarge is such a good big brother. He chews on the puppies, and he nudges them around, but he plays very nice with them. Here, he's sharing a napkin with Charlie Jr.


And finally, a blurry Sarge. He is blurry because he TOOK A FLYING LEAP AT MY FACE as I was hitting the shutter.
