Sep. 23rd, 2005 08:14 pmWe now have pretty strong wind. Also rain and kamikaze hummingbirds. And wind. Howling wind.
However: the power hasn't so much as flickered. A friend of Mom's called once to report that her power was out, then again about an hour later to report that it was back on. We still have land line-variety phone, we still have cell, we still have Roadrunner, and DirecTV, which usually craps out if someone is outside smoking and happens to exhale near the dish, has trooped right along without even a blip. It's probably going to get worse, but not horribly so. Last time I saw a recent satellite view of the bitch, the eye was wobbling all over the place, and there was even a point near the end of the little movie where she didn't even appear to HAVE an eye. So this thing appears to be shaking itself apart pretty fast now that it's been scraping land for however many hours.
And now, tuna fish sandwich.
