Log #2 from the previous batch got dusted with a mixture of paprika and Buckshot, and it was closer but still no cigar. Log #3 is still naked in the fridge; it will be dusted later on tonight and then disposed of in the only proper way... by taking it to work and declaring it fair game.
Batch #2 is the win. Standard cream cheese instead of Neufchatel. More almonds. More Buckshot. Fresh garlic and lots of it. THIS IS IT. OH YES, THIS IS IT. Three naked logs chilling in the fridge. Bowl with remaining blop of cheese stuff and box of Wheat Things in front of me and disappearing rapidly.
