Aug. 7th, 2005 06:06 pmThe AC guy has come and gone, my AC has stopped making noise, and the temperature is slowly approaching something like "survivable." Let me tell you something, folks: when you have to go OUTSIDE in the middle of August in TEXAS to COOL OFF, shit ain't right.
Actually, the guy came and went twice. The first time, it was of course thundering and raining. He came in, turned the AC on, listened to the noise, and said "No, it's not at this end, it's the unit."
The unit, of course, being ON THE ROOF, where he cannot go while there is a thunderstorm going on. Yes, it was a furnace in there, but I think this guy's life was probably a little more important than my comfort.
Thunder stopped, guy came back, poked around topside for a while, and HALLELUJAH REFRIGERATED AIR.
